Back in mid-September I was extended a lovely invitation to participate in a November Wedding Vendor Networking event by Maria Northcott of A Sweet Start. I could barely contain my excitement at the opportunity to be in a room with the many talented individuals that make up the Maine wedding industry. I immediately responded to the email and within 12 hours had signed up with anticipation of the event in November.
As a participating vendor, I was given the opportunity to contribute my paper and calligraphy skills to the materials needed for the event such as food labels, table cards, calligraphy signs, a custom stationery suite and an “I Spy” game-board. Maria continued to curate a stellar group of Maine wedding vendors from across our state to form the #MeetinghouseMeetup group. Below is a list of all the people I had the opportunity to work with for the event.Read More
It has been a very fun and exciting fall for me at Lauren Rachel Design. Along with planning my own wedding and working on the business of Lauren Rachel Design, I’ve also been networking with some fantastic Maine wedding vendors.

The printing process you choose is as important as the design of your wedding invitations. From the color of the paper to its weight, what you choose can affect the overall vibe you want to express as the first impression of your wedding. I always say this to couples, "Your invitation sets the scene, like a director on a movie set. It will portray the emotional elements you want your guests to feel." Every couple wants to "tickle the fancy" of their guests, to impress both sides of the family and friends with a celebration that truly represents them.Read More
I had the pleasure of working with a couple from Wilmington, Delaware named Hari and Mike Grandy. They were married on September 26, 2015 here in Maine at the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport.
I originally met Hari and Mike in 2011 at my sister Carly's wedding. They were in perfect harmony with each other and I could tell even then that their relationship was a lasting one. It was wonderful to hear from Hari a little over a year ago when she and Mike became interested in having me help them design their wedding invitations and
Day-Of materials. The following is a composite of my conversations with Hari throughout and after the process.Read More
I am a New England girl at heart. I was born and raised in Vermont and have lived in Maine for the last 10 years. One of the strongest reasons I have decided to stay in the northeast is that I love the change in seasons and I especially love the fall. The air is crisp and clear, the ground crunches with leaves underfoot, and there are pumpkins everywhere! The rich and vivid colors make a picturesque backdrop to any wedding. Autumn is an undeniably beautiful season and a wedding at this time in New England would provide a rich palette of colors in a beautiful location. Below are some stunning palettes to consider when choosing colors to match the natural fall foliage for your fall wedding.Read More
Since the recent launch of my business, Lauren Rachel Designs, I have been overwhelmed by the warm reception and support of the wedding industry here in Maine. The encouragement of everyone I have networked with has been welcoming and wonderfully sincere. Following my passion for print and paper through wedding invitation design has been an excellent choice for my business and the reception I have received so far seems to confirm this decision. None more convincingly than Fausto and his team at Blue Elephant.Read More
