Beech Hill Barn : Styled Wedding Photo Shoot

It truly has been a whirlwind time heading into spring this year which included many collaborations on styled shoots with many talented wedding vendors from the State of Maine. In particular, I was thrilled to be invited by Fausto of Blue Elephant and Laurie of Laurie Andrews Design to participate in a gorgeous styled shoot and after party for the first open house at Beech Hill Barn!

The concept was conceived by Fausto and Laurie and was developed into a full fledge transformation of the Beech Hill Barn space. I loved the creative thinking tied to Blue Willow china patterns and the palette used immediately grabbed me. The concept of a traditional “something blue” for a wedding, adding a bit of rustic copper and brown tones with a bright pop of lemon all made for a lovely wedding day theme. During the preparation months, the team took shape and many stunning details came together into a beautiful collaboration. Below is the array of vendors involved:

In preparation for the open house, the day was spent setting up the inside of the barn while outside the building, a stunning white tent was erected from Savvy Event Rentals. From inside to outside, the space had areas arranged with event rental props, couches, tables, chairs, florals galore and a charming bar. To add just a little extra “pop” to the settings, Event Light Concepts installed uplighting and overhead lighting for an extra “wow” factor enhancing the stunning look of all spaces.

Focus Photography had a team photographing non-stop during the entire set-up and styling process. We were also lucky enough to have videographer Brittany Jones of Something New Photography shooting video of our models posing in each setting. This was done as things began to take shape; the Focus Photography team and Something New Photography set up small arrangements showcasing the Bride, Groom and two bridesmaids in each setting.

The process of working with Fausto and Laurie on the styled shoot details was exciting and full of inspiration. They made it fun and entertaining as the barn and tent flawlessly came together with the help of the team. The combination of billowing florals, copper and lemon accents, rustic and modern furniture, as well as fantastic food and drinks led to an amazing evening for all that attended. The location, Beech Hill Barn, is a stylish equestrian barn with a simple common area that can easily be transformed with event rentals, lighting and florals. The barn has a fully functional kitchen suitable for use by a catering staff as well as two bathrooms for guests.  This is clearly a unique structure to be added to the barn venue options available in Maine.
