How to make the most of your wedding invitation and paper budget

I’m often asked by couples for ways to make the most of their stationery budget without having to sacrifice style and beauty. When a couple works with me, they will list many options to be included in the initial price quote.  It’s ultimately more bang for the buck when you mix and match to create a stationery package that best suits your needs.  Let me know if you need help as I’m happy to assist with creative ways to keep your budget in check while still making all your stationery dreams come true.

Below are a few examples of packages that I’ve prepared with the input of my couples.

Save the date and wedding invitation suite

From my experience, the list below includes essentials to your wedding stationery package. They are the staples for setting the tone of your wedding day but will still “wow” your guests with a stunning custom wedding design.
    •    Save the date or wedding date announcement
    •    Save the date envelope with matching liner
    •    Invitation
    •    Invitation envelope with matching liner
    •    Reply card, response card or RSVP card
    •    Reply card envelope with matching liner

Traditional, formal wedding invitation suite

The list below adds a few extras beyond the essential elements to your wedding stationery package. I often suggest this package to couples hosting a very formal, traditional wedding for guests in which they need to communicate more details. These materials make the trip with the guests when they travel to the wedding. For example, if the wedding events span a few days, such as a three day weekend, I suggest the creation of a map with the couple’s “favorite spots” to eat, shop, or find adventure. This assists guests with a way to check out local activities while they are visiting.

    •    Invitation envelope with matching liner

Day-of selections

The list below includes the “fun stuff” that bridges the custom design of your stylish invitations to the day of your wedding. Couples get to incorporate their design onto almost anything they can imagine.  It can be as basic as a program for the ceremony to providing custom favor labels with well wishes to their guests.
    •    Ceremony program
    •    Place cards or escort cards
    •    Menu
    •    Favor labels or tags
    •    Coasters

Destination Invitation Suite

The list below is meant for the extraordinary wedding that takes place away from the couple's home state location or for couples who have many guests traveling from afar to attend their wedding day. There is much information to communicate to guests when they travel from afar, especially if they don’t know the area. In fact, there is as much planning for guests arriving to the wedding as there is for the couple!  An accommodations card gives details about places to stay near the venue of the wedding. The map can give directions for fun places to experience nearby or provide travel directions if the ceremony and reception are held in two different locations. Itinerary cards are perfect for multi-day wedding weekends as it lets everyone know when and where they need to be. The folio is an added bonus for keeping all the materials included with the invitation together and ready to travel with guests through their arrival.
